"Whereas, the Director (Rural) of the Local Self-Government Department, as per Notification No. LSGD/PD/24269/2024-EER1 dated 06.09.2024 published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 2888 dated 07.09.2024, has fixed the number of seats to be filled by direct election in the Velam Grama Panchayat of Kozhikode District as 18; and whereas, in line with this, the draft proposals for dividing the said Grama Panchayat into an equal number of electoral constituencies and determining the boundaries of such constituencies were published as per Notification No. SDC/854/2024/SDC8 dated 18.11.2024; and whereas, time was allowed until 4.12.2024 to submit objections and opinions regarding the said proposals, and the objections and opinions thus received have been investigated, the petitioners have been heard in person, and the issues have been considered and disposed of: Therefore, in accordance with Section 10 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, this is the map based on the final order determining the boundaries by dividing the Velam Grama Panchayat into 18 electoral constituencies as shown in the attached Schedule."
